Beaches in Darłówek – eastern and western, which one to choose?

Darłówko has two beaches separated by the port and the Wieprza River. What are the differences between them? Which is quieter, which is closer to attractions, and how to get between them.

Darłówko is divided in half by the port and the mouth of the Wieprza River . On either side stretch the beaches: east and west . Both are wide and sandy, but have different character. Here's how to choose the one that best suits your plans.

East Beach

The eastern side is usually more touristy —closer to the promenade, food outlets, and most resorts. It's a good choice if you want everything at your fingertips: ice cream, a fish and chip shop, and beach equipment rentals all within walking distance.

West Beach

The west side tends to be quieter and is often chosen by those seeking peace and quiet. The further away from the entrance, the less crowded it is—a plus for families with small children and those who value space.

How to get between beaches

A movable bridge over the harbor connects the two sides. It's not just a crossing, but also an attraction—during the season, the bridge opens at specific times to let ships through. Crossing one beach to the other takes a short walk across the harbor.

Which one to choose?

  • You want to be close to attractions and restaurants → eastern beach.
  • Looking for peace and space → west beach, further from the entrance.
  • First time in Darłówek → see both and stop at the bridge when it opens.

Regardless of the side, remember to swim only in areas supervised by lifeguards and check the flags at the swimming area.
